FAQs - True Dog Photography

How do I book?

If you click on 'contact', you can fill out the message form or either call or email me to let me know you are interested in booking and I will get back to you to discuss any requirements and any questions you may have. When you are happy to book, I will require a deposit to secure your booking and we will arrange a date and location of your choice. If you are not sure about a location, I have many suggestions for around Gloucestershire, rural and urban.

How does the photo shoot work?

On the day we will meet at the arranged location. I like to let the dog have a bit of a run around or explore first and get to know them a bit before starting the shoot. I like to start with some posed, portrait shots and then finish with some action and natural shots. To truly get the best out of your dog, I like to work as a team with you, as you are the person your dog connects with best. For more posed shots it usually works better for you to give commands for your dog to sit or lie down as he/she is use to responding to you.

What if the weather is bad on the day?

The only really problematic weather is rain. It doesn't have to be sunny to capture the perfect picture. Overcast, windy or even snowy weather can create some brilliant images. But, from my experience, rain mostly produces a damp dog with a dampened personality and some unhappy humans.

When we have a date arranged for the shoot, I will keep an eye on the weather and if it isn't looking good I will call up and discuss whether you wish to reschedule or discuss a more suitable location. However if rain isn't a problem for you and your dog and you are happy with the 'wet look', I am happy to get out the waterproofs and get snapping!

I have a black dog. Will this be a problem?

Definitely not! I actually have a lot of experience capturing black dogs as I have two of my own that I regularly photograph in all different kinds of light and locations.

What area do you cover?

As I am based in Gloucester, my standard charges include the areas within a 15km radius. Any areas outside of this will incur a standard additional 45p charge per mile. If you are from a much further afield location please contact me and we can discuss your requirements.

What happens after the shoot?

After the photo session I will edit the photos to a high standard and upload them to your own private gallery on my website for you to view. You will be given a password to access this as soon as the edit is complete. We will then arrange to meet up and view your photos together to choose which you wish to purchase. I offer a range of professional prints and products to choose from.

Do you offer Gift Vouchers?

Yes I do! If you are looking to give a True Dog Photography experience as a gift to someone, or would like to offer printed products as a gift, please send me a message and I can arrange a gift voucher to fit your needs
